Getting married at the Domaine de la Thionnière: a videographer's view

A wedding at the Domaine de la Thionnière, in Cerdon-du-Loiret: the couple hand in hand under the trees of the park.
The park at La Thionnière in June. Still from Océane & Sam's film.

The Domaine de la Thionnière describes itself as a haven of peace in the heart of Sologne, and that is exactly the impression it leaves after a full day of filming there. A Sologne longère, lakes, gardens, and a weekend rhythm that changes everything.

What the place brings to the image

Sologne is above all a quality of light. The tall trees in the park filter the sun late in the afternoon and naturally create the soft backlighting you can spend hours chasing elsewhere. For Océane and Sam's film, the entire couple's session happened under those canopies, without a single reflector.

The lakes are the asset few venues have. Water brings two things to a film: reflections, and therefore depth in the frame, and acoustic calm. Filming an outdoor ceremony beside a lake means capturing voices without the background hum of a road or a village.

Finally, the longère and its low volumes offer a rare sobriety. No pomp, no gilding: stone, wood and greenery. It is a setting that leaves all the room to faces, which is precisely the point of a wedding film.

From Friday to Sunday evening

The estate is let from Friday 2 pm to Sunday 7 pm, with accommodation on site. That contractual detail has a direct effect on the film: decorations go up the night before, Saturday morning preparations happen without a race against the clock, and the evening stretches out with nobody thinking about clearing up.

It is in those unconstrained moments that the truest images are found. A wedding where everyone is watching the clock shows on screen.

A wedding I filmed there

Océane & Sam were married there on 20 June 2026. The full account of their day is here: their wedding at the Domaine de la Thionnière.

This venue is one of the Loiret wedding venues I document. You can also read the Google reviews left by the couples I have worked with.
