Getting married at the Château de Fontenaille

I have not filmed a wedding here yet. It is a venue well regarded among wedding suppliers in the region, with consistently positive feedback. This page gathers what the venue publishes and what a videographer takes from reading it, to help your search. I will complete it from the inside as soon as I have spent a day there, camera in hand.

The estate

  • Location - 2380 route de La Pellerine, Saint-Pierre-des-Landes (53500), ten minutes from Fougères
  • Estate - 32 hectares in total, including 13 hectares of parkland
  • Marquee hall - 450 m², seating up to 400
  • In the park - a chapel, lakes, gardens and centuries-old trees
  • Outbuildings - converted into reception rooms and bedrooms
  • Accommodation - up to 84 people
  • Château - 19th century, dedicated to weddings since 2015

What a videographer looks for in this venue

An estate's figures and volumes already say a great deal to whoever films there. Here is what, at Fontenaille, would directly affect the film.

A chapel in the park

This is the rarest feature on this list. A chapel on site removes the journey between ceremony and reception, and with it the main logistical constraint of a wedding day. For a videographer it means no race against the clock between two locations, and a continuous narrative thread from morning to night.

400 guests, a different scale of filming

Above 300 guests a wedding is no longer filmed the same way: speeches demand close sound capture, wide shots become essential to convey the size of the room, and every movement takes time. It is a scale that needs preparing.

Lakes and centuries-old trees

Water brings reflections and therefore depth in the frame; old trees give natural backlighting late in the day. Across thirteen hectares, a couple's session can change setting three times without getting in a car.

Wedding videographer in Mayenne

Studio SB creates wedding films in Mayenne and across the region. On weddings far from Mayenne, where I am based, scouting the day before is part of the package: it lets me see the light at the exact hour of the ceremony rather than discovering it on the day.

This venue is one of the Mayenne wedding venues I document. You can also discover the wedding film packages or the Google reviews left by the couples I have worked with.

Contacting the venue

I neither own nor manage Fontenaille. To book a date, get a quote or arrange a viewing, contact the estate itself.

Frequently asked questions

In Saint-Pierre-des-Landes (53500), Mayenne, Pays de la Loire.

No, not to date. It gathers the estate's own information and a videographer's reading of it. It will grow after my first wedding on site.

Yes, this is my own department. Studio SB is based in Mayenne and travels across it all year. Wedding films start from €1,400.
