Océane & Sam's wedding film at the Domaine de la Thionnière
On 20 June 2026, Océane and Sam were married at the Domaine de la Thionnière, in Cerdon-du-Loiret, deep in Sologne. Almost the longest day of the year: usable light until ten in the evening, lakes, and a whole day to tell their story on film.
Filming on 20 June: the longest light of the year
Marrying at the solstice changes how a wedding film unfolds. The sun sets around ten, which shifts everything: the drinks reception still happens in broad daylight, the couple's session can wait until half past eight for raking light, and the first night shot only arrives after the first dance.
It is a luxury, provided you use it. Many videographers schedule the couple's session straight after the ceremony, in full sun, when the light is at its harshest. With Océane and Sam we waited until the end of the evening. The images from their session, backlit under the tall trees of the park, are the ones that open their film.
A ceremony beside the lake
The lakes at La Thionnière are not merely a pretty backdrop, they change how you work. Water brings reflections, and therefore depth in the frame, and above all a rare acoustic calm: no road, no village, no distant tractor. An outdoor ceremony filmed in those conditions lets you capture voices, silences and laughter without having to rescue them in the edit.
In practice, that means the promises Océane and Sam exchanged are heard in their film exactly as they were spoken. On a videographer's website there is a great deal of talk about images; it is sound that makes people cry ten years later.
The rhythm of a wedding with accommodation
The estate is let from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, with several places to stay on site. Océane and Sam made the most of it, and it shows in the film: the morning preparations happened without stress, in a house where everyone was already there, and the evening ran on with nobody watching the clock.
It is a point I make to every couple who ask: a venue that gives you the weekend offers far more than a saved hotel night. It offers the moments you cannot manufacture, and those are exactly the ones I am there to film.
What their film contains
As with every Studio SB wedding, Océane and Sam received a cinematic film of 8 to 15 minutes depending on the package, the full-length ceremony, a vertical edit for social media, and secure online delivery in 4K. Aerial drone footage was part of it: the park and lakes at La Thionnière lend themselves to it particularly well.
