Émilie & Ronan's wedding film at the Domaine des Hayes
On 9 August 2025, Émilie and Ronan were married at the Domaine des Hayes, in Maxent, in the heart of Brocéliande forest. Four hundred hectares of Breton woodland, a hundred and fifty beds on site, and an August day that ran deep into the night.
Filming in Brocéliande forest
A forest is a magnificent setting and a technical trap. Light arrives in patches: a face moves from full sun to shade in three steps, and the range is violent. So you choose positions according to the canopy rather than the prettiest background, and accept giving up a perfect frame when the light does not follow.
In exchange, the forest offers what no manicured park can: natural depth, shafts between the trunks, and immediate intimacy. Two people walking under the stands of Brocéliande need no staging for the image to say something.
Working with the photographer
The photographs that day were by Elodie Jannier, a photographer based in Goven, Ille-et-Vilaine. Photographer and videographer work exactly the same moments, in the same place, at the same time: when the two coordinate, even briefly at the start of the day, positions fall into place and the couple have only one team in front of them.
It is an organisational detail couples usually discover afterwards, and it makes a concrete difference to the comfort of their day.
An August wedding, from morning to night
On 9 August the light holds late. The drinks reception still happens in daylight, the couple's session can wait for the end of the evening and raking light, and night only falls after the first dance. With 152 beds on site, nobody was watching the clock, and the party could stretch out.
It is in those hours, once the tension of the day has dropped, that the most sincere shots of a wedding film are found.

The films stay private, out of respect for the couple and their guests, and because the music behind the edit is protected. One email address is enough to receive my latest wedding film.
To understand how I film and what I film with, it is all explained separately. The other accounts are in my work.
