Laure & Clément's wedding film in Château-Gontier
On 23 May 2026, Laure and Clément were married in Château-Gontier, Mayenne. A town wedding, with a church exit whose laughter you can still hear on the film.
Leaving the church: the shot you do not miss
Some moments are prepared and others are waited for. Leaving the church belongs to the second kind: it lasts about fifteen seconds, it is never replayed, and it is often the most joyful shot in the whole film. Rice, confetti, bells, and two people suddenly discovering everyone they love gathered in front of them.
To get it right you have to be outside before everyone else, have chosen your angle in advance, and know which way the light falls on the forecourt. That is exactly what scouting the day before allows, and what you cannot improvise while walking out of the nave with the crowd.
Filming inside a church
A religious ceremony imposes two constraints at once. Light first: a nave is dark, stained glass creates very bright points, and faces fall into backlight as soon as you shoot towards the chancel. No additional lighting is conceivable, you do not set up a lamp during a service. Everything is settled while shooting and in the grade.
Then sound. A church echoes: words exchanged at the altar become inaudible a few metres away. Vows are therefore captured up close, otherwise the most important moment of the day does not exist in the film.
